The ongoing labour dispute at the Atlas Tube Centre has forced the Play For A Cure event to move to the Vollmer Complex in LaSalle.

Organizers say the move is out of the “abundance of respect for all parties involved”

The Play For A Cure fundraising event for cancer research will be held over two days on March 28th and 29th, 2019.

On Thursday March 28th there will be a Draft Party hosted at Caesars Windsor where participating teams have a chance to draft an NHL Alumni to play on their team. Play For A Cure teams compete for the priority draft selection by fundraising, and the top fundraisers receive the top pick.

On Friday March 29th the NHL Alumni will play alongside the local team that drafted hem. Former NHLer’s Adam Graves, Marty McSorley, Marty Turco, Dennis Maruk, Todd Warriner, John Ogrodnick, Dave McLIwain & Tim Taylor will be taking part.

Friday evening, the top fundraising individuals will get to play against the infamous Detroit Red Wing Alumni team in the inaugural Play For A Cure NHL Alumni Pro-Am Event. Tickets are available online here.
