It’s that time of the year again — ‘Sunshine List’ day where governments and organizations that receive taxpayer funding are required to disclose the names, positions, salaries and total taxable benefits of employees paid $100,000 or more in a calendar year.
The numbers for the 2018 tax year are now out.
In a statement, City officials said, “It should be noted however, that in many cases the amounts include such one-time payment items as acting pay, overtime, retroactive payments, adjustments required by pay equity legislation, and/or settlements that do not form part of the normal ongoing base salary of employees.”
“More specifically, in 2018 there was one multi-year contract and one salary market review settled, which resulted in one-time retroactive payments to a large number of employees covering a number of past years.”
