The County of Essex is seeking the public’s input on trails, bike lanes, and active living as it updates the Master Plan for the County Wide Active Transportation System.

Whether you occasionally walk on the Greenway or use bike lanes every day, they want to hear from you.

Residents can fill out an online survey to help officials better understand how they use the current trail system and what priorities they would like to see the county focus on going forward.

The CWATS plan envisions an 800-km network of trails and pathways linking Essex County communities from Windsor to Chatham-Kent. Projects are identified and undertaken in conjunction with the lower-tier municipalities.

Projects undertaken in 2018 included paved shoulders on County Road 50 in Essex and Kingsville, a one-way bicycle path on County Road 20 linking Leamington and Kingsville, and paved shoulders and a multi-use trail on County Road 2 in Lakeshore.
