The 2018 Coats for Kids campaign is well underway, and the Unemployed Help Centre of Windsor needs the community’s help and support to reach its collection goal.
They are asking the community to take the time to look in their closets to help us ensure a successful campaign to keep children warm this winter season.
Distribution of the coats is set to start on Saturday, November 10th. They have set a goal to collect 600 coats by the end of October.
“There’s already a chill in the air at this point in the season and we need hit our goal so that local children will be warm through the winter,” said June Muir, CEO of the Unemployed Help Centre. “No child should be without a coat in cold weather– it’s a basic necessity and we’re happy to be able to do our part in providing it.”
Coats can be dropped off at the Unemployed Help Centre’s Windsor offices, located at 6955 Cantelon Drive until October 31st.
This year there is a particular need for boys’ and girls’ coats sizes 9/10, 11/12 and 13/14 as well as children’s and adult gloves.
