The St. Denis Centre was filled with cheers Friday and Saturday with the Fourth FIRST Robotics Competition taking place.

30 teams attended the annual event, representing 1000 high school students from across North America. The competition itself partners the students with engineers, skilled workers, and programmers over 6 weeks to design a 120 pound robot. This year’s competition was a game called “Steamworks.”

The public is encouraged to attend yearly as this is a free event.

Margaret Green, volunteer, stands with Sheri Lynn Koscielsky, the volunteer coordinator of the event, and Ihassane Lakmari, another volunteer.
