The banners which hung throughout the City of Windsor to celebrate the 13th FINA World Swimming Championships (25m), are coming down.

The banners were displayed to welcome the almost 1,000 athletes from more than 160 countries who came to compete.

The City of Windsor will sell the banners first come, first served for $50 flat rate.

Those wishing to purchase a banner should contact the mayor’s office. Buyers can arrange / pay for shipping, or pick up at the Mayor’s Office at 350 City Hall Square between 8:30am and 4:30pm. Monday to Friday. Cash, Debit, Visa and MasterCard are accepted.

“It was an honour and a privilege for the City of Windsor to host this international swimming competition,” said Mayor Drew Dilkens. “This was the first time the event was held in Canada, and Windsor definitely made our country proud. These championships showcased the world’s top athletes, highlighted what can be accomplished through hard work and determination, created a sense of civic pride, and inspired younger athletes to chase their dreams and find success on the world stage. This is a great opportunity for FINA fans to own a unique piece of local history.”
