Daniel Matte of Windsor won $100,000 top prize with INSTANT MISSION: MONEY.

“I stopped to fill up gas on the way home,” said Matte while at the OLG Prize Centre in Toronto where he picked up his winnings. “While at the gas station, I decided to pick up a couple of scratch tickets.”

The married father of three, who also has two grandchildren, scratched his tickets in the truck. “INSTANT MISSION: MONEY was the first ticket I scratched. At first I assumed I wouldn’t win anything but then I started to see that this ticket might be a winner. I checked the prize amount and saw so many zeros that I decided to run back into the store and use the ticket checker to be sure.”

Matte’s heart was pounding when he looked at the screen and saw the words, ‘Big Winner – $100,000.’ “I was shaking so much I could barely sign the ticket. There was someone else in line and when he saw me signing my ticket he asked if I won big. I had to re-scan my ticket and show him. His mouth fell open!”

Next, Matte asked the retailer to validate his ticket. “People in line congratulated me as they shared my winning moment.”

Plans are already underway for his windfall. “My favourite hobby is building custom motorcycles. It’s a family affair. My son and I love working on the bikes together. This win means more father and son time as we complete four bikes that have been waiting for my attention. My wife and I are definitely snowbirds. Mexico is our getaway – the Yucatan Peninsula to be specific. We will be sipping a few more drinks out of coconuts in the weeks and months ahead,” concluded Matte.

The winning ticket was purchased at Shell on Tecumseh Road in Windsor.
