Environment Canada warns to expect significant precipitation Friday night and Saturday across all of Southern Ontario.
A Colorado low is tracking towards Southern Ontario. Snow will continue tonight into Saturday morning. Total snowfall amounts of 5 to 10 centimetres are likely with a few locales receiving 10 to possibly 15 cm.
Latest indications suggest the Colorado low will track northeast across Southern Ontario on Saturday. As a result, milder air will pay a brief visit, causing the snow to change over to periods of rain Saturday morning as temperatures edge above the zero degree mark. Brief freezing rain is possible in some localities during the changeover from snow to rain Saturday morning.
The precipitation will change back to some snow Saturday night, as cold arctic air returns quickly in the wake of the low. Latest indications suggest a couple more centimetres of snow are possible by Sunday morning.
