The lights will be staying on at the Children’s Safety Village thanks to a $3,000 donation from CUPE Local 27.
“We are delighted to have the opportunity to support the Children’s Safety Village. The programming offered by the Safety Village is essential to the safety and well-being of our children. Costs to operate the Children’s Safety Village, especially its hydro rates, continue to escalate. Our members wanted to be able to provide the Children’s Safety Village with the funds it needs to keep its lights on and doors open. CUPE 27 is committed to supporting services to help create bright futures for our children”, says Fred Jamieson, President, CUPE 27.
The union represents 280 custodians, building maintenance, preventative maintenance, courier drivers, locksmiths, and window glaziers at Greater Essex County District School Board.
