The ground floor retail space of the Pelissier Street Parking Garage may be saved after all.
The Downtown Windsor BIA announced late Thursday evening that True Fitness Windsor is looking to open a second location in that space.
The company, which first opened its doors in Windsor in 2013, currently operates an 8,000 square foot fitness centre on Windsor’s east side.
True Fitness owner and operator, Luis Mendez, is looking to expand his facilities to a second location in downtown Windsor. In doing so, Mendez plans to enhance True Fitness Windsor’s current services with the addition of a massage therapist, chiropractor, and the inclusion of other health and wellness services.
More information on the proposed expansion is expected to be released Friday afternoon.
Meanwhile, a special meeting of Windsor City Council has been called for Monday, November 28th, 2016 at 6pm to discuss the future of the ground floor retail space.
Two weeks ago, council voted behind closed doors to convert the retail spaces to parking spaces, after trying to rent the space out.
