OPP continue to investigate after a pedestrian was hit and killed in the westbound lanes west of Manning Road around 6:50pm Wednesday.
Police say that the vehicle did not stop at the collision scene and has yet to be identified.
The victim has been identified as 35-year-old Cory Lynn Dauphin of Windsor.
OPP say it is still unknown why Dauphin was on the highway, although a blue Chevrolet registered to her was parked on the shoulder near the collision scene.
Witnesses have advised police that vehicles, including a tractor-trailer occupied by two men had stopped shortly after the collision but did not provide their names and left the scene prior to police arriving.
The OPP are requesting that anyone that stopped at this collision or may have been in the vicinity of the 401 Highway west of Manning Road to immediately contact them at 519-723-2491.
