Golf Tournament Proceeds Support Constable John Atkinson Memorial Scholarship Fund

The John Atkinson Memorial Golf Tournament Committee has announced that the WindsorEssex Community Foundation will receive a cheque of $14,000 to support the Constable John Atkinson Memorial Scholarship Fund, and endowment fund held at the WECF.

“I am so excited that this year the proceeds from the golf tournament are going to the Constable John Atkinson Memorial Scholarship fund. John’s memory and legacy live on through the John Atkinson Memorial Golf Tournament and the Constable John Atkinson Memorial Scholarship Fund,” stated Shelley, wife of the late Constable John Atkinson. “I want to thank everyone who came out to support the 6th Annual John Atkinson Memorial Golf Tournament. The success of the tournament could not have happened if it was not for the kind support and participation of everyone who attended the tournament.”

Since 2010, a golf tournament has been held annually in memory of Constable John Atkinson who was shot and killed in the line of duty in 2006. This year marked the 10th anniversary of John’s death and the 6th year of the tournament.
