Random Act of Kindness Day is back this Friday, November 4th.
Each year many individuals, groups, businesses and organizations participate in the day by engaging in various acts of kindness throughout the city and county. The WindsorEssex Community Foundation is collaborating with these groups to share stories via social media. Those who want to participate this year are encouraged to contact the WindsorEssex Community Foundation office at 519-255-6572 or [email protected] for free RAK Day materials to use on November 4th.
These cards encourage individuals to perform a simple act of kindness for someone; a neighbour, a friend, a co-worker, or someone they don’t even know – and hand the card over to that person, inspiring him/her to do the same.
There are so many ways to participate! A Random Act of Kindness can be as simple as:
- Buying someone a coffee
- Holding the door open
- Paying for someone’s parking
- Donating to Canadian Blood Services
- Helping someone load their car
- Praising someone’s efforts
On Friday, everyone is encouraged to share their kindness stories with the WECF via social media by tagging @WindsorEssexRAK or using the hashtags #WERAK or #RAKDAY.
