The Kingsville accessibility advisory committee has teamed up with the Alzheimer Society of Windsor & Essex County to present “Heads Up For Healthier Brains” a free workshop designed to help residents recognize the signs of Alzheimer’s disease, and reduce their risk.

It is estimated 7,120 people in Windsor and Essex County, 40 years of age and older, have Alzheimer’s disease, or a related dementia.  By 2031, that number is projected to climb to over 10,000 for people 65 and older.

“KAAC is committed to making the Town of Kingsville barrier-free,” committee chair and councilor Thomas Neufeld explained. “As part of our mandate, we have identified the need for an educational component.”

It takes place at 6pm on September 22nd, 2016 at the Unico Building, located at 37 Beech Street in Kingsville.

The event is free and coffee and snacks will be provided, and seating is limited.
