The Town of Tecumseh is conducting the 2016 By-Election for the Office of Councillor Ward 2 using the internet and telephone.
To be eligible to vote persons must be:
- A Canadian citizen, and at least 18 years old, and
- A resident of Ward 2 of the Town of Tecumseh, or the owner or tenant of land in Ward 2 of the Town of Tecumseh, or the spouse of such owner or tenant, and not otherwise prohibited from voting as outlined in the Municipal Elections Act, 1996, as amended or any other legislation.
Everyone eligible to vote will be mailed a voter information letter.
Eligible electors wishing to verify they are on the voters’ vist, can contact the Clerk’s Office at 519-735-2184 Ext 116 or 143.
To be added to the voters’ kist, eligible persons must attend in person at the Tecumseh Town Hall or voter information centre and complete an application to amend the voters’ list. Personal picture identification will be required.
Eligible electors, on the voters’ list, will be mailed a voter information letter (VIL) which will include their personalized Personal identification number (PIN). Eligible electors who do not receive a VIL, are asked to contact the voter information centre.
Voting will begin October 4th at 9am and will end on Election Day, October 14th at 8pm.
