Hundreds of jobs will be up for grabs this week with 11 different companies at an innovative job fair on Wednesday, September, 21st in downtown Windsor at St. Clair Centre for the Arts.

“This is really what makes Windsor Essex such a dynamic place to have a business. People can decide they want success more than anything and work together for the greater good,” says Matt Marchand, President and CEO at Windsor Essex Regional Chamber of Commerce. “This job fair speaks volumes about the businesses that came up with this very creative approach to a job fair. It really is one stop shopping but for jobs.”

Companies include Caesars, Centerline, Classic Tool, Cypher Systems Group, Electromac, Ground Effects, Jamieson Labs, Linamar-Exkor, Mucci Farms, TRQSS, and Windsor Regional Hospital.

Along with the joint promotions, each company will also work to get the message out that this job fair is unlike the usual approach.

“We wanted to show that we have a common goal,” says Carol Bendo, Manager, Human Resources at Mucci Farms, “and that by working together we could help each other and help ourselves too. Many of us are also very different in terms of the staff we are looking for. So why not work together and try to get as many people out as possible.”

Staff are needed to fill professional, skilled trades and general labour roles.

“We are telling people to bring friends and relatives and basically look around for what type of job or even career that they may fit into at one of these companies,” says Elise Marentette, who has helped with coordinating the job fair. “It really is a very interesting approach and we are confident saying that we have a job for just about everyone at this job fair. So come out and look around, and talk to people from this amazing array of companies. It will be time well spent.”

It will run from 11am to 7pm.
