Every Friday windsoriteDOTca will let you know which beaches are safe for swimming, and those that are not.
Water samples are taken every Wednesday. The samples are sent to a public health lab in London. Testing is done Thursday and the results are given to the Health Unit by Friday.
Based on samples taken Wednesday, August 3rd, 2016:
Swimming is not recommended at Cedar Island Beach, Colchester Beach, Holiday Beach, Mettawas Beach, Sandpoint Beach, Seacliff Beach, and West Belle River Beach as E.coli counts exceed 100.
