Remington Park Cancer Cluster Investigation Town Hall Meeting Planned

The Windsor-Essex County Health Unit will be hosting a follow-up town hall meeting to discuss the findings of the Remington Park Cancer Cluster investigation.

The meeting planned for Thursday, September 8th, 2016 will start with a 30 minute presentation. Following the presentation, there will be one hour designated for a question and answer session.  The last hour will be reserved for the public to visit educational booths that will have information about lung cancer, its risks and how to reduce them.

The opening presentation will focus on cancer, local statistics on cancer, and background information on cancer clusters, the investigation and its results, and the next steps.

During the question and answer session, the public will be able to ask further questions regarding the findings in the report, which will be posted to the Health Unit website by September 6th, 2016.

Space will be limited for this event, as we are only able to accommodate 200 people comfortably. Entry to the event will be on a first come, first serve basis.

It will take place from 6:30pm to 9pm at the Optimist Community Centre.
