Speed Limit Going Down To 60 km/h On South Talbot

Tecumseh Town Council has voted to reduce the speed limit on South Talbot Road from 80 km/hr to 60 km/hr from County Road 9 (Howard Avenue) to 300 metres west of County Road 11 (Walker Road).

Town administration told council that they had received numerous complaints from residents living along South Talbot Road of motorists speeding.

Residents who live along the street say that they saw a substantial increase in traffic volumes since construction of the Herb Gray Parkway. Officials believe that drivers are using South Talbot Road to by-pass the Highway 3 roundabout to travel to their destinations.

The change was approved Tuesday evening.
