Odie is a very handsome and very smart seven-year-old hound mix with soulful brown eyes and a sweet demeanor. In addition to loving the company of adults, look out kids, cats and other dogs if you’re in the market for a new BFF!

In his spare time (which he pretty much has 24/7), Odie enjoys visiting the dog park (he loves to be chased!), riding in the car, building blanket-nests on the couch, and cuddling with his people.

Odie would make a great running and hiking companion, and he also appreciates short morning walks with his foster dad. Odie will need an owner who understands and appreciates the special hound-way of walking—leash pulling and nose to the ground!

While he loves people, Odie also has a sense of independence and does well with being left home alone, uncrated. And ever the polite houseguest, he gets an A+ in housetraining!

This dear hound would like to live in a detached house since he will sometimes bay at strange noises, but overall he is a quiet dog. He also requires a fully fenced yard since he’s inclined to follow his nose. Odie is great with other dogs, but would also be happy as the only dog in the home.

This boy is ready to shower you with affection. Sweet Odie would be so grateful if you opened up your home to him and showed him what it’s like to be loved forever.

Odie is available for adoption through Second Chance Animal Rescue. His adoption fee ($325) includes up-to-date vaccinations, deworming, flea treatment, neuter and microchip. If you’re interested in making Odie part of your fur-ever family, please submit your adoption application at
