The Windsor Public Library is assisting Fort McMurray families returning to Windsor to escape the devastation and destruction caused by the wild fires.
“Windsor Public Library will be providing free library cards to Fort McMurray residents in our community who are working to put their lives back together,” says WPL CEO Kitty Pope. “Daily email communication with insurance companies, government agencies, healthcare providers and emergency personnel can be performed at all of our branches. It’s the least we can do to provide internet access and other materials during this time of need. “The normal fee to obtain a library card for individuals living outside Windsor and Essex County is $50.
To obtain a temporary 90-day library card, returning residents will have to verify their identity and demonstrate that they have a Fort McMurray address.
