Wednesday marks the Annual Law Enforcement Torch Run for Special Olympics. A relay run will traverse through the communities of Essex County, and will finish on the waterfront in Windsor at the Civic Terrace.

Windsor Police  first participated in the Law Enforcement Torch Run in 1986 and has continued the annual spring tradition every year since. The local run was renamed in memory of Senior Constable Troy Klyn in 2009. Troy was a Windsor Police officer who was an avid runner and the coordinator of the Torch Run for a number of years. He passed away suddenly in 2006.

Tecumseh – 8am

End: Intersection of Tecumseh Rd E & Manning (northeast parking lot)

Lakeshore – 9am
Start: Belle River High School
End: Tetrault Valumart (Snack Stop)

Leamington – 10am
Start: Big Tomato
End: Cardinal Carter High School

Kingsville – 11am
Start: Lakeside Park (Division Rd S)
End: Kingsville Public School

Essex -11:45am
Start: Renaud Ford RV (2558 County Road 20)
End: St. Anthony Catholic School

Amherstburg – 12:30pm
Start: Amherstburg Police (BBQ Lunch)
End: Meloche Ford

LaSalle – 2pm
Start: Sacred Heart Church
End: LaSalle Public School

Windsor – 3:30pm
Start: Civic Terrace
End: Ambassador Bridge and Back
