The Windsor-Essex County Health Unit has begun the 2016 mosquito larviciding program.
Larviciding takes place to reduce populations of mosquito larvae and to reduce the risk of the West Nile Virus to persons in Windsor-Essex County.
It takes place in standing water that cannot be drained and with pellets in catch basins. Only areas within 2 kilometres of urban communities will be treated.
All larvicide is applied by Ministry of the Environment and Climate Change licensed applicators or trained technicians.
It continues until October 31st.
