Speakers from Quebec, across Ontario and Michigan will be in Windsor at the end of this month to talk about creating healthier, greener neighbourhoods that encourage active transportation at the Windsor Essex Detroit Bike Summit.
Taking place May 29th and 30th, with the theme “Building Partnerships for a more Bike Friendly Windsor-Essex” the event will showcase local cycling resources with discussion on best practices and emerging trends in cycling for healthy, safe and livable communities and economically vibrant
neighbourhoods.
Participants will learn best practices in cycling from International, Canadian, Ontario and local speakers, understand the economic impacts and related values of cycle tourism for communities, stay current with key issues and emerging trends in cycling infrastructure, and network with leaders in the cycle tourism, infrastructure, trail development.
Bike Windsor Essex Executive Director, Lori Newton, says this will be an unprecedented opportunity for local planners, policy makers and urbanites to meet with leaders from other communities who are thinking and implementing complete streets.
