New Human Resources Manager In Essex

The Town of Essex has hired Tara McGowan as the new Human Resources manager.
McGowan will be responsible for developing and implementing policies, programs and procedures related to human resources planning, recruitment, collective bargaining, training and development, health and safety, and compensation.
McGowan’s prior experience includes six years as Director of Human Resources for Delta Sault Ste. Marie Waterfront Hotel and Conference Centre. Over the last 10 years she has developed expertise in the areas of human resource management, collective bargaining, labour relations, strategic planning, project management, and employee engagement.
McGowan is a graduate of Carleton University and holds a Bachelor of Arts with a major in English and a minor in Business. She also has a certificate from Cornell University in Change Leadership and has been a member of the Human Resources Professionals Association since 2004.
