The Essex Region Conservation Authority has issued a flood watch.
They say that due to predicted winds of 22-30 km/hr out of the east-northeast and northeast over the next 72 hour period, with the potential for wind gusts exceeding 45 km/hr, a possibility of flooding, shoreline erosion and damaging waves exists along the Lake Erie shoreline on the east side of Pelee Island, along the southeast shoreline of the Municipality of Leamington between Wheatley Harbour and Point Pelee and along the Lake St. Clair shoreline at the western limit of the Town of Lakeshore, the Town of Tecumseh and the eastern limit of the City of Windsor.
In addition, due to the predicted wind speed and duration, areas along the Detroit River may experience increased water levels due to the lake setup.
