Plans for the 38th annual Art in the Park are well underway with lots of new events planned to enhance the traditional.

“Every year the Art in the Park jury committee strives to attract the best artists and artisans from around Ontario and Quebec. We are proud to say that this year we will be presenting 276 artists and artisans with more than 50 brand new exhibitors working in a variety of media for the enjoyment of our visitors”, explains Colleen Mitchell, Chair of the Art in the Park Committee.

Art in the Park continues to offer something for everyone. The Spirit Tent offers delectable dishes from local restaurants, specialty cocktails and imported wines from Hiram Walker & Sons Limited, local wines from Cooper’s Hawk and Sprucewood Shores, cold beer from Walkerville Brewery and a stage featuring a variety of local talent.

This year, the Kids’ Zone will feature inflatables, mini putt, face painting and Cinderella and Super Hero photo shoots. There will be scheduled story times from the Rotary Club of Windsor (1918) Literacy Committee, live sing song entertainment and Lego play. High Jinks will have their large tent with a toddler soft floor, water play, and an art contest for children 2 to 13 years old. A baby change and nursing tent will be available again this
year.

Back by popular demand is a Bike Valet service, sponsored by Caesars Windsor, and organized and staffed by volunteers of Bike Friendly Windsor-Essex.

Willistead Manor will feature displays, performances and activities provided by many local arts organizations and collectives. This year’s line-up includes The Artists of Colour, Sho Art, Spirit and Performance, Levigator Press and more.

It takes place on June 4th and 5th.
