Amica Fire Not Suspicious

A fire last Thursday evening at the Amica retirement home on Riverside Drive East is not considered suspicious.
The fire broke out around 10:15pm inside a second floor residence. The building’s internal sprinkler system contained much of the fire but caused serious water damage to the unit and the floor.
Investigators say that their investigation is completed, but the cause won’t be known pending results of tests.
Damage was set at $150,000.
