A strike could be on the horizon at the Windsor Public Library.
The library stopped contract negotiations on Monday and asked the Ministry of Labour to allow for a lockout or strike as early as March 29th according to the union.
“Our union was prepared to bargain and hammer out a fair contract that would allow our members to continue to provide important library services, but instead management has set the stage for an unnecessary service shutdown,” said Amanda Meloche, a CUPE spokesperson.
The union represents librarians, clerks, catalogers, and maintenance staff.
