Windsor City Council is looking to do something about dogs who run off-leash in city parks.
Councillor Chris Holt put forward a motion to transfer $5,000 from the budget stabilization fund to increase patrols in parks to give fines for dogs who are off leash.
The motion also included asking Windsor Police what has to be done to give auxiliary police the power to issue tickets while in city parks.
The motion passed, and a report will come back to council in one year to evaluate the success.
The city will also look at adding signs in the parks about the dog leash bylaw.
