The Windsor-Essex Catholic District School Board has reached a tentative agreement with its occasional teachers after several weeks of bargaining, the Board announced today.

“We believe this is a fair deal that is fiscally responsible for our ratepayers and makes certain that the best occasional teachers will be in front of our students,” said Board Chair Barb Holland.

The agreement was reached with the Ontario English Catholic Teachers Association, which represents 371 occasional teachers with the Board. Employees will vote on whether to accept the deal at a ratification meeting at a yet-to-be determined date.

Terms of the agreement will not be available until after ratification.

Contract negotiations between the Board and its full-time elementary and secondary teachers, CUPE Locals 1358.1 and 1358.2, and Unifor 2458, are ongoing.
