Windsor Police have spoken to the owner of a large dog that attacked and killed a small dog on Tuesday.

Police say a woman was walking her dog in the 400 block of Giles Boulevard West around 4:30pm when it was suddenly attacked by the larger dog.

The owner of the dog called and spoke to officers about the incident. He told police that a family member was walking the dog at the time. He said they didn’t realize that the injuries to the small dog were so severe.

The small dog sustained serious bite related injuries to his torso so the woman brought him to an animal hospital but he succumbed to his injuries and died.

Police are still investigating.
