Local students wishing to pursue the study of medicine at the Schulich School of Medicine and Dentistry will have additional opportunities for support thanks to a $250,000 gift from the Toldo Foundation to the Toldo Foundation Medical Excellence Scholarship at the University of Windsor.
The scholarship was founded in 2009 with a $500,000 donation from the Foundation. It is based on academic achievement and financial need and is open to local Canadian students or permanent residents who meet OSAP Ontario residency requirements. This $750,000 total endowment will continue to provide income to fund scholarships for years to come.
“The Toldo Foundation’s commitment to making medical education more affordable to students from our region is highly valued and appreciated,” says UWindsor President Alan Wildeman.
“This latest scholarship gift from the Toldo Foundation is another example of the Toldo family’s commitment to healthcare, education, the arts, and our local community.
