Kids with special needs and their families were welcomed recently to visit Santa before mall hours at Tecumseh Mall.
With music and lights turned down low, families were encouraged to enjoy time with Santa at their own pace.
The mall says that often kids with special needs, and their families, do not get a chance to share precious moments with Santa during the holidays because there is usually too much stimulation to filter through at a mall.
“Tecumseh Mall has been part of many first time moments. This event was no exception,” said marketing and leasing coordinator Marissa Goze. “Planning and organizing this special event gave families a chance to create, for the first time, wonderful holiday moments with Santa, in an accepting and comfortable environment. Tecumseh Mall is grateful to help create these priceless memories for families that will be cherished for years to come.”
Emotions ran high as the event brought plenty of smiles and even a few “happy tears.”
Families took home photos and expressed how grateful they were to be able to capture these precious moments, says Goze.
