Rick Atkin Park was dedicated Wednesday in Leamington.
The popular town Councillor passed away in April of natural causes.
The park, previously known as Robson Road Park, was named after Atkin in recognition of the significant contributions he made to the community since 2006.
Councillor Atkin first arrived in Leamington in 1985 as the Municipality’s head of recreation. He was instrumental in expanding the marina and oversaw major aspects of Leamington’s waterfront development including Robson Road Park and the waterfront promenade.
