Environment Canada says that it will be very windy Thursday.
A strong Colorado low forecast to cross the Great Lakes will blast a strong cold front through the region Thursday morning. In the wake of the cold front, strong southwesterly winds are expected to develop early Thursday morning with gusts up to 70 km/h in many places. A few higher gusts to 80 km/h are possible over more exposed areas.
Higher winds are expected near Eastern Lake Erie where a wind warning is in effect.
These strong winds will persist for much of the day on Thursday before veering to a more westerly direction and diminishing slightly Thursday night.
