Some much needed financial help has come to the Kiwanis Club of Windsor Sunshine Point Camp.
The WindsorEssex Community Foundation has presented the camp with a grant of $26,000. This grant will assist the Kiwanis Sunshine Point Camp in meeting its operational budget and kick off a capital campaign to support more children in Windsor Essex County.
The camp is 6 acres on the shores of Lake Erie in Harrow, has been providing a fun and enriching experience for the children of Windsor-Essex for more than 65 years. The camp targets families that might not otherwise afford a summer camp experience and at times subsidizes the full cost.
“This generous grant will allow our volunteers to make some much needed capital improvements as well as improve our programs by offsetting our operating expenses,” said John Foley, President of the Kiwanis Club of Windsor.
