Rotarians from the Rotary Club of Windsor-St. Clair have named Anna Jurak as Rotarian of the Year.
This annual award is designated for the one Rotarian in the club who clearly stands out in demonstrating “Service Above Self,” and commitment to the Four-Way Test. “While there were many individuals who have made significant contributions to the mission and operation of the club, Anna really stood out as going above and beyond this year,” elaborated Mary Lou Decou, who served as last year’s Club President. “Anna served as the Board’s secretary and took the lead in making effective operational changes. She also invited several new Rotarians to join our club, while looking into opportunities for membership recruitment and retention.”
Jurak, a Rotarian since 1992, has been recognized by the Rotary International Foundation as a Major Donor. She initiated the Club’s Blood Donor Challenge, inspiring and encouraging many Rotarians to engage in this life-saving effort. She spearheaded the Peace Pole award to recognize those in the community who actively promote peace and understanding. She also took the lead in moving forward the club’s major project, is helping to refresh the TV Auction, and is leading the organization team for the 40th Anniversary Celebrations later this year. Anna is presently the Club’s President nominee.
