During the month of August, local big-three dealership Windsor Chrysler ran a campaign to support the Salvation Army of Windsor.

The Drive For Windsor campaign involved having a portion of every new car sale donated to the Salvation Army. The idea was brought to the table by one of the marketing officers at Windsor Chrysler.

“They do amazing work for our city,” said Windsor Chrysler General Manager Mike Hogue. “We are completely honoured to support them.”

Windsor’s Salvation Army has grown to become the largest direct provider of social services in Canada, and gives hope and support to individuals everyday.

Today, Windsor Chrysler has presented the Salvation Army of Windsor with a cheque for $10,450.

“We want to thank Windsor Chrysler all of the customers that purchased a new vehicle and making this possible,” quoted on behalf of the Salvation Army. “This allows us to renovate the second floor of our facility, and will continue to provide those who seek our assistance.”

Hogue is proud of the work they could produce, claiming it was a no-brainer to take action. “We wanted to give back to the community, this was a perfect way. How could we not?” Hogue exclaims, hoping other local businesses will take the same challenge.

A plaque was handed to Windsor Chrysler in honour of their support.
