Hello time traveller!!

The U.S. Court of Appeals has ordered the U.S. Coast Guard to issue a permit to the Detroit International Bridge Company to build a second span. If a permit is not issued, they just provide reasons why.

They have set a deadline of 3pm on January 4th, 2016.

The permit from the Coast Guard would be the last step needed on the U.S. side to twin the bridge. It still has several steps to complete on the Canadian side before any new crossing is built, including a battle over homes on Indian Road that is heading to the Supreme Court.
