The Town of LaSalle has hired consultants Steer Davies Gleave to lead a transit feasibility study.
The town is looking to see if there is a demand for a bus service in LaSalle, and if the demand exists, to identify the capital/operation costs associated with the implementation of the service.
Steer Davies Gleave has contracted Sentis Research to complete a telephone survey. A number of households will be contacted over the next two weeks, and asked to answer questions about a potential bus service.
“As we plan for the future, we are considering the community’s use of a public transit system,” said Mayor Ken Antaya. “We are asking for their input to see if they might use this type of service, where they would expect a bus to travel to and from, and what times the service should operate.”
Steer Davies Gleave will also be hosting a public information drop-in session on Wednesday, November 18th from 4pm to 9pm at the Vollmer Culture and Recreation Complex.
