Three people were sent to hospital after a major crash on the E.C. Row Expressway near Walker Road around 9pm Tuesday.

Police say a grey Mazda was westbound in the curb lane on E.C. Row in the area of Central Avenue. Information was provided to police that a white vehicle travelling in the passing lane allegedly began to merge into the curb lane and may have made contact with the grey Mazda. The alleged impact caused the grey Mazda to lose control and cross through the centre median into the eastbound lanes of E.C. Row. The grey Mazda then collided with a red Mazda vehicle which was travelling east.

The driver of the grey Mazda sustained serious injuries. The passenger was ejected and sustained very serious injuries. The driver of the red Mazda sustained very serious injuries but not life threatening. She had to be extracted from the vehicle by Windsor Fire and EMS.

Police are asking anyone with information about the involved white vehicle or the collision to call. The white vehicle may have damage on its right side.

The westbound lanes were closed until 4:30am.

The eastbound lanes reopened just after 8am.
