Monday evening, City Council voted to move forward with spending $78,000 for an environmental assessment for the proposed pedestrian tunnel under Riverside Drive.
The city has set aside a total of $2.75 million for the project, but Councillor Irek Kusmierczyk put forward a motion to stop the project saying the funding could be better used to repair tennis courts, water fountains and basic park amenities.
