The contract for the Commissionaires who provide parking enforcement in the City of Windsor expires at the end of this year, and City administration is looking to extend it one more year.
The Commissionaires took over city parking enforcement on October 4th, 2010 after City Council voted to contract out the service that had been provided by city staff.
The original contract expires at the end of 2015 with three options to renew for one year periods.
City administration says they are satisfied with the currently model of parking enforcement and that since contacting out revenues had been on the increase.
Extending the contract for 2016 will cost the city $620,840.
City Council will make the final decision at their meeting on Monday August 24th.
