A new funeral home is in the planning stages in South Windsor to replace a long-standing motel.
City Council has approved a site plan for Windsor Chapel Funeral Home for a 13,850 square foot facility to be built at 3048 Dougall Avenue. The existing hotel would be torn down.
The funeral home would be a single story building and will have parking for 158 cars and 9 bikes.
Windsor Chapel currently has two other locations in Windsor. One on Tecumseh Road East and a second on Tecumseh Road East at Banwell that was build a few years ago.
There is no word when construction could start. Emails to Windsor Chapel were not returned.
