windsoriteDOTca will be providing weekly beach reports every Friday, all summer long.
We will let you know which beaches are safe for swimming, and those that are not.
Water samples are taken every Wednesday. The samples are sent to a public health lab in London. Testing is done Thursday and the results are given to the Health Unit by Friday.
This week testing was done on Tuesday due to the holiday.
Based on samples taken Tuesday, June 30th, 2015:
Results indicate that Sandpoint, West Belle River, Hillman, Seacliff, Mettawas, Cedar Island, Cedar, Colchester and Holiday beaches are posted as bacterial counts exceed 100.
No beaches are closed this week.
