The Pelee Island Ferry’s yearly move to Kingsville has been delayed.

Officials say that ongoing dredging at the Kingsville harbour channel means the service will not make the planned move on August 1st.

This dredging work is contracted by the Kingsville Non-Profit Port Management Corporation, on behalf of the port owners, Portco and the Town of Kingsville.

Pelee Island ferry service will continue operating from the Leamington Terminal until at least August 14th, or until such time that it can be confirmed that sufficient progress in dredging has made the harbour channel safe for passenger ferry use.

Ferry customers will be provided with one week’s notice of the ferry service return to Kingsville once the moving date can be established.
