Beach Report: Swimming Not Recommended At Sandpoint, West Belle River Beaches This Week

windsoriteDOTca will be providing weekly beach reports every Friday, all summer long.

We will let you know which beaches are safe for swimming, and those that are not.

Water samples are taken every Wednesday. The samples are sent to a public health lab in London. Testing is done Thursday and the results are given to the Health Unit by Friday.

This week testing was done on Tuesday due to the holiday.

Based on samples taken Wednesday, July 8th, 2015:

Swimming is not recommended at Sandpoint and West Belle River beaches as bacterial counts exceed 100 E.coli count per 100mL of water.

No beaches are closed this week.
