Just after 3am this morning, a couple in the area near the Festival Plaza observed a woman by the water’s edge. They heard a splash in the water, went over to investigate and saw the woman in the water.
The man jumped in the water and held her while his girlfriend called 911. Police were told the woman had jumped.
Officers arrived and saw the man in the river holding onto the woman who was fully submerged in the water and unconscious.
The man was having difficulty holding onto the woman and could not lift her.
Three Windsor Police officers on scene utilized a life saving ring and went into the water to assist. The woman was lifted up and over the guard rail.
As she was lifted out of the water and over the guard rail she regained consciousness.
EMS attended and transported her to hospital for an evaluation.
