You know that summer has officially kicked off in Windsor-Essex when Art in the Park takes over historic Willistead Park in Old Walkerville.

The festival kicks off at the Spirit Tent with a Friday night launch party featuring 80’s Inc and British Beat 66.

Then on Saturday and Sunday, a near-record 275 exhibitors will fill the 15 acre park.

Over the years, show organizers have expanded and enhanced the show’s content to appeal to all ages and interests. Significant enhancements in Willistead Park will make it easier for visitors to tour the spacious grounds. They say the new asphalt-paved perimeter walkway will make it much easier for those in wheelchairs, and toddlers in strollers, to leisurely take in the Art In The Park exhibits.

Again this year, there will be a complimentary shuttle service to and from Willistead Park during the show. The two satellite parking lots are at the Hiram Walker & Sons employee parking lot on Riverside Drive East at Montreuil Street and the Windsor Regional Hospital parking lot on Kildrare Road.

A new feature this year, Bike Friendly Windsor is providing a secure bike valet just inside Willistead’s main gate on Niagara Street during Art In The Park hours on Saturday and Sunday.

All proceeds from Art In The Park directly support important local children’s charities such as the John McGivney Centre for Children and Maryvale Adolescent and Family Services. A portion of the show’s proceeds also go toward the continuing restoration of Willistead Manor.

Over the past 30 years Art In The Park has raised more than $1.3 million for the restoration of Willistead Manor and its gracious grounds.
